When it rains, it pours...

So today's brand post is both inside AND outside the box. The design of it is quite straightforward but then it's not really very obvious to anyone looking what the brand is.  Have you guessed it yet?

It's for Morton Sea Salt!  I had the container on my counter and thought the design was really pretty. It ended up being a great week to unveil it!!  Even though the brand logo is the little girl with the umbrella, all the Morton  brand salt products include the navy so I think it still works! ;) Check out what the other ladies came up with below! (And please excuse my photography on this one. My camera went ten shades of crazy for some reason!)

Addicted to blue...

Day two is here!! If you missed yesterday's post, I'm in the middle of a challenge week using the color blue.  To challenge myself, personally, I've added a rule that I can't remove any art from my mani.  I have to add to what is already there.  The challenge started yesterday with a base coat of Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it for the Boy. Today I decided to do some simple stripes.  I used butterLONDON Big Smoke which is a gorgeous dark, shimmery blue to add some fat stripes on each nail.  I thought really hard about matte topcoating this because I LOVE suedes.  But I ultimately decided against it.  I like stripes since they're easy to do and yet they look somewhat elaborate on the nail!  I hope you're enjoying the challenge!

Don't forget to check out the other members of the Digit-al Dozen's art work for the day!!

Neon Sunset

So recently I decided to try out a splatter mani.  I started with a white base and then splattered Orly Glowstick, a ridiculously bright yellow, over the top.  But...I didn't love it. It was too subtle and the splatter wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be.  So I decided to play with putting something over the top to mask the messy splatter and salvage my mani!  I ended up with these stripes.  I started with horizontal stripes but after I got two on I decided I didn't love it so I went with diagonal and then decided I liked the look of the contrasting stripes and the neon boldly peeking through the cracks!  This was one that even caught my husbands attention so I know I did something right! :P  Have you tried a splatter mani?

X marks the spot

Tuesday's challenge for the Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring challenge was Spring stripes.  As you can tell, I'm a bit behind on the challenge at the moment since this is going up on a Friday! But you win some you lose some and as I'm working on some exciting things for my blog (like a giveaway soon!) I think it's OK to fall behind a little bit.  I'm also heading into my last week (or two days rather) of Nail Tech school and I'm really excited to get my business cards circulating and start a new career doing something I love and am so passionate about!  But on to the nails!  I started with a base coat of butterLONDON Scoundrel, a gorgeous pinky purple.  Then I taped of some stripes on my accent nail and used butterLONDON Lady Muck to create the accent.  I was surprised how much I ended up liking these two colors together. Lady Muck is rather pale and muted while Scoundrel is fairly bold.  But it worked out well in the end. Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for following!
