Barielle Mirror Mirror

Today I have another fall collection to show you! This one is by Barielle.  Barielle polishes are three free and vegan and they've released a five polish collection for Fall called Mirror, Mirror.  It's mostly a creme collection with one jelly which you see above, Blushing Beauty.  One thing I always love about Barielle is how opaque and pigmented their line is. With the exception of the jelly shade above these are all swatched as ONE COAT.  That's right guys, these are one coat polishes.  I'm guessing they'll be great for my fall stamping and marbling manis!! So on with the show!! Blushing Beauty is a gorgeous red jelly shade. I did two coats for the swatch above and you can just BARELY see my nail lines so it's a very buildable shade and certainly wearable on it's own.

Then we have Feathered Slippers.  This one is a nice creamy grey tone.  Again one coat here and no top coat.

Up next is Pretty Women, a vibrant blue creme.  This one was SO flattering on my skin tone.  I think it was my favorite of the collection.

Actually I take that back!! THIS one is my favorite! This is Ribbon & Lace, which is a gorgeous teal shade.  These all dried so shiny!

Finally we come to Silk Stockings, a lovely tan creme shade.  It's always great to have a good nude for fall!  Which one was your favorite?

Bling It On!

I gave you a preview of this collection on Tuesday and today I'm going to show you the remaining four colors!  I'll start by saying that these glitters all went on very easily and came off well...like a GLITTER!  Barielle indicates that they can be worn alone, and while that is true certainly, these are NOT full coverage glitters.  All but two of them are micro glitter or shimmer with larger hex glitters mixed in.  This means that they are great for laying over things but at the same time, depending on the base color they will look quite different.  I've swatched them all using one coat of glitter over two coats of white, black, a complementary shade, and a nude.  These colors, like all Barielle polishes, are five free and vegan. :) So let's see them already!!

First up is Sea Urchin, a sea foam green glitter according to Barielle.  It's a sea foam shimmer with larger hexes and circles in yellow, green and teal.  The shimmer felt a little heavy on the black nail for me. I think this one is best over a similar shade.

Next up is Angel Dust, described as a sheer, iridescent glitter.  Basically that does sum this one up. I LOVE this one over black and it's also quite ethereal over the nude and white shades.  The glitter shifts depending on the base and the lighting so this one is a fun one to play with! It's along the lines of China Glaze Snow Globe.  Also, excuse the variance in these photos. In the middle of my swatching I got a new camera and changed my nail shape. :/

Here we have Golden Halo. This one is a gold shimmer with pink glitter in it.  I originally felt this one was a bit girly for me but I ended up loving it.  I think it works really well over all the colors although the black was probably my least favorite layering combo.

Finally we come to Amethyst.  I knew out the gate that this one wasn't my style and it didn't do anything for me on the nail either. It's purple large hexes in a clear base. I will say that although it appears to be tacoed, it isn't. It was perfectly flat on my nail.  If large glitters like this are your thing then this is one that you'll love! :)

Which one are you most excited to pick up?

Barielle Bling It On Sneak Peek...

So I let you know last week that coming up I would have the new Barielle glitter collection for you.  It's been awhile since they released a collection with glitter polishes so I'm really excited to share these with you! There will actually be TWO glitter collections but this week I'm going to share with you the Bling it On collection.  I don't normally do sneak peeks but a lot of you may have seen this picture floating around the internet and while the colors look pretty in the pic, the real thing is SOO much better! Today I'm going to show you my favorite of the bunch and then on Thursday if you come back you can see the whole thing. :)  When I got the release I expected to like Sea Urchin the best. It has all the things I love in it BUT....Shooting Star is the real stand out of the bunch in my opinion:

Barielle is calling her a blue/purple metallic glitter. While that's accurate I think the word duo chrome should be in there for sure!! In the shot above you can see how she shifts on the bottle as well as the nail I've done over black.  I tried to do these on a few different things so you can see how they work with other colors.  Over the white there is mostly just larger blue glitters.  You CAN see the purple/blue shift of the shimmer but it's more subtle.  The blue nail shows off more of the shimmer and shift and while you can still see the larger glitter it's less noticeable.  The pinky is meant to display what it might look like on a neutral or a bare nail.  You can see a lot more shimmer there and the blue glitters stand out.  Then we have black.  Magical, wonderful black.  This is the color where the duo chrome REALLY comes alive and while the glitters are visible, they're not center stage here.  Definitely my favorite color combo!

SOOO pretty. If you pick up no other colors, this one is a must have.  The swatches above are all ONE coat of Barielle glitter over two coats of a base.  There is no curling or sticking up of the glitters and I did not have to fish for them.  :) Stay tuned for more! Which one are you dying to see next?

Barielle Gentle Breeze

Today I have swatches of the new Spring Barielle collection for you! The collection is called Gentle Breeze and it's a nice mix of colors and finishes!  The above is called Under the Sea. It's a nice blue green shimmer.  Most of these were opaque in two coats and they all dried nice and shiny! This one was one of my favorites. :)
Next up is Gray Sky.  It's a pale gray shimmer.  I love greys and this one was no exception.  It's so soft and flattering.
And here we have Heaven Sent.  It's my favorite for obvious reasons!  It's also a ONE COATER.  One...coat.  I can't wait to try stamping with it!
Then we have Champagne Bubbles.  This one I had to do three coats of and it's an odd color on me but it's got a pretty shimmer.  I think it would be better suited to a different skin tone.  It's a soft tangerine.
Pink Parasol is another one coater.  It's a creamy bright pink. Overall I really loved the collection! I think I'd pass on the pink and tangerine since they're not really my shades but they're both perfect spring colors! Which is your favorite?

Barielle Jetsetter Collection

Today I have some swatches of another new collection from Barielle.  I didn't have a ton of experience with Barielle before this year because they're difficult to find in my area, but I have to say I'm really loving these. Not only are they shiny and creamy, they're great for stamping!  At any rate this collection contains six more colors for Fall/Winter.  Above is my favorite of the bunch. It's called Kiss Me Kate and it's a gorgeous creamy neutral.  I've already used it a million times! It's perfect for my skin tone. Plus, above is two coats with no top coat and just LOOK at that shine!

Next up is Rain In Spain.  I love the name on this one, My Fair Lady is a GREAT classic film!  The color is also nice but nothing special to my collection.  Still it's flattering and again, super shiny with great coverage.

This next one is a real stunner.  Midnight in Paris is a GORGEOUS deep blue with a nice shimmer.  It leans just slightly purple and it really lights up on your nails!  So pretty for this time of year.

Autumn in Seoul is another real standout in the bunch. This one is a metallic copper shimmer. Not only is it super pretty on it's own, it stamps like a dream!

Then we have Irish Eyes, a mossy green.  Again two coats, no top coat. Super shiny and so flattering.

Finally we have Gondola Ride. A lighter creamy sage green.  Overall I really liked this collection. While some of the colors weren't unique to my collection, they all have great formulas and as I stated above, they stamp quite nicely as well!  Which is your favorite?

Barielle colors are vegan, 5 free and cruelty free. You can purchase them at Barielle.com or any authorized retailer.

Barielle Fall 2014 New York, NY Collection

Today I have the fall collection from Barielle for you! I wanted to get these up sooner but the sun just wasn't cooperating with me! The fall collection contains three creams and a cream with a hint of shimmer.  I was really excited about these and while I was surprised with them when I saw them in person I still ended up really liking most of them!

First up is Taupe Notch, described as a creamy dark taupe.  I've always thought of taupe as more of a tan color but I did some research and it can extend to greyish browns too.  I'm a sucker for a good grey and this is a GREAT one.  It's super shiny (no top coat on these) and very deep.  One complaint I had on this one is the formula of mine was quite thin. It still evened out in two coats but it was tricky to work with since it wanted to run everywhere. That's the first I experience this issue with this brand and it was the only of the bunch so maybe mine was a bad bottle. Nonetheless the color is stunning.

Next up is Berry Posh, a creamy dark fuschia.  This one is as described and just as shiny as the others. Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Moda Bleu is next, described as a creamy dark navy blue.  I found this a little brighter than a navy and the effect is almost that of a jelly although it's quite opaque.  This one was a favorite of mine.

Then there's Soho at night, a creamy grape purple.  Again it's pretty much just as described.  I love the shine on these!

Boho Chic is next up and it's described as a creamy deep sea green.  I REALLY love this one.  It looks like a really dark teal.  This one, like the blue, reminds me a bit of a jelly with the shiny, squishy finish.  It was opaque in two coats though!

Finally we have Vintage Gown, described as a rust with a hint of pink.  I don't feel the description fits this one at all! It's sort of a nice, warm tan with an orange gold flash.  It''s the only in the collection with a finish that isn't a cream but the shimmer is subtle.  It complimented my skin tone quite nicely though!

Which is your favorite?  Barielle polishes are five free and never tested on animals. :)

Barielle The Keys

Today I have some swatches of the new Barielle summer collection. Its called The Keys. It's made up of three pink shades, a jelly red, a shimmery orange and a greenish yellow.  The shades aren't colors I'd normally be drawn too but seeing swatches of them I decided to try them out anyway! I was pleasantly surprised by most of them.  These are all swatched with two coats and no top coat. :)

Paradise in the Tropics is a bright fuchsia.  I don't have quick access to Barielle colors so I only have a handful but the shine on these is pretty incredible.  I love how bright this one is!

Then we have Barefoot in Bermuda, a hot pink shade.  It looks VERY similar to Paradise in the Tropics but for me it was more pink and creamy.  Paradise in the Tropics had an almost jelly feel to it, though it was opaque. This one didn't. It's also a little brighter and a little less deep.

Then we have Miami Heat.  This one is a bright red jelly!

Next up is Hawaiian Sunset, a shimmery orange.  Reminded me a bit of China Glaze Cross Iron 360 or Butter London Torch.  It's brighter though and the shimmer is very obvious.   I don't love oranges but it's a really pretty color!

Then comes Panama Pina Colada.  This one didn't love me!  It's a greenish tinged bright yellow.  Great color for summer just not great on my skin!

Finally we come to Topless in St Tropez.  This one is a coral toned pink with silver shimmer.  In the bottle this one read as a hot mess to me.  I was genuinely scared of what it would look like on my nail.  But my fears were unfounded.  Even though it looks like it has grey streaks of shimmer in the bottle, it blends together for a flawless finish on the nail.  Shimmery and pretty!  Which is your favorite?

E is for Elle's Spell

abc

Well with the holidays and the unforunate tragic events around the world over the last week, I guess my fellow bloggers, Kerrie, Emma, and myself, got a bit distracted from our A,B,C challenge.  But fear not because we're back this week with the letter "e".  This is Barielle Elle's Spell.  It's the only Barielle I own and really, I don't know if I'll keep it.  I bought it amid a torrent of blogger lust over it and don't get me wrong, it IS pretty.  But this is FIVE coats.  FIVE. I know it's a jelly and I love jellie's but I feel like in order to really see the flakies it's important that this is built up a little more and it took quite a few coats to get to that point.  It's also lovely layered over darker colors but I really don't get into layering polishes much. I have a million and I rarely use them.  Anyway Elle's Spell is a red/cranberry jelly with color shifting flakies. I believe it's still available to purchase and runs about $7.99. :)  Do you have Elle's Spell?
