It's time for the letter "P" for my ABC Challenge!  This one was a no brainer for me.  My husband got it for me for Christmas and I'm just NOW getting around to wearing it.  I was skeptical of it at first....purple isn't always my cup of tea.  But this polish IS. STUNNING.  The shift in it is VERY obvious and really super cool.  It changes in different lights and has a really neat kind of metallic sheen to it.  The above picture was taken in natural light. It's sort of a deep purple with a pinkish lean to it although you can see some grey-ish green creeping along the edges too.  Now let's see how it looks in artificial light, shall we?

Well I've been out of nail school for over a month now.  I can't say I really miss it although I had tons of fun while I was there!  Seventy hour weeks aren't really high on my list of things to do and I can't wait to start doing nails for a living.  Awhile back I posted some nail art that one of my nail school friends, Pauline did for me.  I have a few more of those to come but I want to spread them out a little since, sadly, Pauline doesn't live near me so I won't be able to have her do anymore pretty nails for me. :( But here's a little twist for today...nail art I did for Pauline! 

 Thing is...Pauline and I had a little TOO much fun at nail school.  We spent plenty of time learning and practicing, don't get me wrong. But we also spent an inordinate amount of time just being silly and laughing. And lets face it--when all you do is work, sleep, and go to class, a little bit of laughter is a good thing!  Most of the art I ended up doing for Pauline was more because of the fact that no matter how careful she tried to be, she almost always wrecked a nail before they had fully dried.  *sigh*  So you'll notice as these come up that the art is usually limited to the tip of the nail and it isn't always the standard accent finger!  BUT we had fun with the cute designs too!!  This one was sprung from a completely random incident.  Some time ago my husband bought me a necklace.  Knowing I love cute things and kitty things and I have a super fat kitty (who I love to absolute death!) he found this necklace of a fat, kawaii kitty on a balloon.

Super duper cute right?  I love it.  So I'm sitting in class one day wearing said necklace when Pauline leans over and says "Is that Pusheen?"  I think I asked her to repeat her question, like, three times.  "What the heck is Pusheen?" I wanted to know. Pauline tells me to "Google it" and I do and holy freaking cuteness. Pusheen love was born. So when I had polished her nails one day with Barry M Blue Moon followed by a nice dose of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in The Air, only for her to nick the tip 10 minutes later...I thought, what better a cover up than little Pusheen?  And voila! There you have it!

I can't believe Christmas is already over!! It came and went so quickly this year I didn't even have much time to enjoy it. I spent most of Christmas and Christmas Eve at my parents house and I ended up playing all manner of silly games with my niece! She also got a Dippin Dots maker AND a Blizzard maker from my brother and we got to make a complete mess making ice cream and soda dots. Whoever decided an ice cream maker for children should require you to turn the cream for 10 FULL minutes was clearly not using their head. So guess who ended up churning cream for forever? Lol...but I digress. Here are my lazy day nails for the 31 Days of Christmas Challenge. I used Orly Ma Cherie for the base on the red nails and Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I'm Sexy for the glitter. The gold nail is Barry M Gold Foil with Milani Gems in Gold over the top. They got quite a few compliments for being so simple! Thanks for following!  I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!

I normally put some kind of pretty nail art on my fingers before I leave the house!  I've spent hours thinking about new designs to do and Lord knows I have PLENTY of tools and colors to use to create them.  But recently, there's been some colors that I just don't want to put art over.  This was one of them.  butterLONDON Lady Muck.  It was on my wish list for a long time and my husband finally gave into my whinging and bought it for me. :)  I added some glitter to the top and then topped it with Seche Vite.  Unfortunately, the Seche Vite doesn't get along well with the Deborah Lippmann glitters so I had some pretty major tip pull.  I'm still experimenting with new top coats.  I know people rave about Poshe and Out the Door but neither gave me the same effect as the Seche Vite.  So the hunt continues (or I'll just deal with the tip pull!)  Suggestions are always welcome! Base color is: butterLONDON Lady Muck.  Topped that with two coats of Deborah Lippmann Today Was a Fairytale.  Two coats of Seche Vite and voila!
