Lucy in the sky

It finally feels like Spring outside!! Hopefully this time it sticks.  I thought for the warm weather I'd break out the Spring colors.  Also I just picked up this incredible glitter the other day called Lucy in the Sky.  It reminds me a bit of Tart with A Heart but they're not near similar enough that you don't need both! I also successfully completed this tape mani without pulling my hair out!  Although I did have to start over once. I really need to get in the habit of putting down a base, waiting a day and then doing the tape ones. I have ZERO patience for dry time and even with a quick dry top coat it just never works out for me! Hope you all enjoy this fun, Spring look!

Between the Lines

This is a quick look I put together with some of my new Zoya colors. I'm REALLY loving Payton, a deep wine sort of purple with holographic glitter throughout. You can't see the holo effect in this picture but it's just a beautiful fall color in sunlight or shade.  I threw Tomoko over the accent nail which is another of my must have fall colors. It's not quite silver but not quite gold either. I'd call it a champagne but I feel like it almost leans just a touch too silver for that as well. Either way it's like a foil-y, shimmery, metallic-y matte. It's just stellar. This is two coats so you can see that it's also quite opaque.  I really love these textured polishes as a topper for the standard glossy finishes.  I think the contrast is really stunning! What do you think of Tomoko and Payton? Have you picked them up yet?

Tape Me Now...

It's day eleven of the Digit-al Dozen's celebration series, The Digit-al Dozen, Does it All Again! There's only ONE day left after today! I can't believe it! Today's challenge was a tape mani.  Last time we did tape mani's I had a little trouble with creativity! I'm just not patient enough to do them and I prefer to just make lines myself! That said, I'm always up for a challenge and I decided to go with something I keep seeing and wanted to get around to trying anyway! It's a reverse tape gradient. I used really sparkly colors for this and I think it really helped because glitter and shimmer are much more forgiving!  I hope you love the mani as much as I do!

Please don't forget to enter the September Specatcular for your chance to win a $200 gift card! THERE'S ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT!! And check out what my fellow Digit-al Dozener's came up with by clicking the link below!!

Patchwork Party

These are some quick nails I did last week.  They were meant to come out a little differently but I think they ended up working anyway! I started out using tape to tape off the triangles. The blue is the only which ended up taped though as I'm just not near patient enough to continue that way!  I used the Color Club Poptastic Collection for these and it's hard to tell from the picture but there are two distinct pinks in the collection. I tried to keep one pink box smaller on each nail so as not to create an overwhelming pink design! I hope you all enjoy them!

The Neon Lights

Following my not so awesome results with the chevron patterns, I decided to try again with a different approach.  This time I chose a houndstooth pattern for the monotone side and then for a pop I used neon for the stripe. I went for more of a half and half split this time around too. I really like the idea of just the thin line up the side for the pop of color but I also really like neons for summer so I wanted a little MORE of the pop!  I think these are my favorite of the two even though they really turned out very different in the end. I hope you all enjoy them! :)

To the T

Today's manicure for tape mani week with the Digit-al Dozen was inspired by a dress I have.  I'm really not patient enough to get extra fancy with the tape thing nad I think it kind of showed with this one because I spent forever touching up lines and I'm still not in love with them. It helps if you place the tape straight in the first place!  But I digress. I was still happy with the final result. I really love how the crisp white pops next to the green, which by the way is sort of a jelly so it looks super squishy and bright on the white! Don't forget to check out what the other girls came up with for today! And stay tuned all week for more tape mani's!

Stairway to...

It's the final day of the Digital Dozen Bling Week challenge!! Today I tried to do something a little more exciting! It's been such a busy time for me lately and my creativity is suffering!  These I did with some GOSH Holographic (the new version which is a bit easier to use than the old) and some fancy scissors and tape.  I don't do many tape mani's...mostly because I lack the patience to wait for them to dry in between coats but this one was pretty and easy!  I hope you enjoy it!

Don't forget to check out what the other ladies came up with for the final day of Bling Week!!

It's a Two-fer...

So now that I'm working it's becoming increasingly difficult to keep my nails polished. :(  It's not that we aren't allowed, it's just that when you're removing polish all day long, your own seems to eat the dust as well. So I'm trying something out.  On Monday, I polished JUST my ring and pinky finger.  When I got home from work, my ring was a TAD smudged. Just a little bit but enough.  So I re-polished.  Today I had my polished removed for a mani for a trainee so I guess I'll have to resume the experiment tomorrow, but the idea is that when I come home with the ring completely pristine then I'll polish the middle and keep going until I'm able to keep all my polish nice for my procedures.  It's work, don't get me wrong, but work well worth it!! So here's my mini polish job!!  The base is Revlon White on White followed by two coats each of the China Glaze Neons* and then some striping tape, a coat of Revlon Black Lingerie, and voila!! Neon nails!! Enjoy and thanks for following!!

She's fabulous, but she's evil...

Isn't that the truth?  Glitter always looks SO amazing on your nails, but getting it off is a proper nightmare!  I find that it's much easier to remove if the glitter isn't in direct contact with your nail. Even over a basecoat it seems to hang on forever.  For this mani I started with OPI Rally Pretty Pink.  I've had it for awhile, ever since my husband spotted the Serena Williams set (with the red shatter which has always confused me) but I haven't actually gotten around to using it yet.  After I got it on my nails, I LOVED the gold/pink duochrome effect.  But I thought it needed more glitter (because you can never have enough, right?) so I added some Rosie Lee.  The next day I thought I'd amp it up a bit by adding the gold.  I got the idea for the gold "shreds" from another blog and I can't for the life of me remember where it was!  I tried to look around but it turns out that a lot of people have done this type of mani so I don't feel AS bad.  Still, if I find it I'll post a link :)  Enjoy and thanks for following!!

Base is OPI Rally Pretty Pink.  One coat of butterLONDON Rosie Lee over that.  The gold shreds are Orly Luxe and one coat of butterLONDON West End Wonderland.  Two coats of Seche Vite over all that!

I'm sorry that people are so jealous of me, but I can't help it that I'm so popular

Pink Wednesday is here again!  Honestly, I don't wear an incredible amount of pink even though I have quite a few of them in my ever growing nail polish collection.  So it's always a bit of a challenge for me to come up with something that's fun and new but also pink!  This manicure was a combination of me needing a pink mani and also having just snagged the new blue shatter collection by OPI.  I think it came out rather nicely though when I taped off the tips they weren't as straight as I would have liked.  Oh well, can't win 'em all!!

Base is: butterLONDON in Primrose Hill Picnic.  Shattered the bottom of the nail only with OPI Shatter in Turquoise.  Two coats of Seche Vite and done!

Enjoy and thanks for following! :)
