U is for Unpredictable

I have a super pretty polish to show you for today's ABC Challenge. The letter for today was "U" and I dug out this China Glaze color that I haven't used since I originally got it. It's called Unpredictable and it's from the New Bohemian collection.  The collection was made up of mostly duo chromes and this is no exception.  It's a green to blue shift and it's just gorgeous. I also loved that these have some shimmer to them and an overall metallic effect so they're just really cool from all angles. This is two coats of Unpredictable and it's got a pretty flawless application. Happy to fall in love with this one all over again!

S is for Sweets to the Sweet...

I have to apologize for being SUPER late on these ABC Challenge nails! "T" will be up shortly as well. Life has gotten busy and time gets away from me!! Anyway for the letter "S" I've chosen to show you an indie polish. This is Lynderella Sweets to the Sweet and I was lucky enough to score it from an awesome nail friend, Debbie of The Crumpet. :)  Sweets to the Sweet is a milky, jelly based polish with various shapes and colors of glitter inside.  It's not super sparkly but it's oh so fun and Spring-like on your nails. Since the base is pretty light you can also layer it to create different effects. I used Lime Crime's Milky Ways here, for a softer look.

R is for Razzle Dazzle...

It's time for another letter in the A,B,C Challenge!! Toady the letter is "R".  I had a lot of choices for today but I ultimately decided to go with this GORGEOUS Deborah Lippmann called Razzle Dazzle.  This was a Christmas gift from my husband and I haven't really gotten around to wearing it yet.  It's a stunning magenta jelly with glitters.  It looks really mulch-dimensional on the nails and it's super duper sparkly! This is two coats and it's completely opaque but it still has a squishy quality about it which I love! What do you think?

Q is for Queen Vic

It's time for the letter "Q" in the ABC challenge! I can't believe how fast these seem to be going by!  This one was an easy choice for me because it's the only polish I own with the letter "Q" at the front! How does that happen? lol...it's a gorgeous color anyway. A rich wine shade that leans a little pinkish in certain lights. In my entire collection I don't own a single other polish of this color.  This is two coats and like most of my butter London's, it's flawless even without any topcoat. I don't get into pinks and reds much but this one is a keeper for sure!

P is for Private Dancer...

It's time for the letter "P" for my ABC Challenge!  This one was a no brainer for me.  My husband got it for me for Christmas and I'm just NOW getting around to wearing it.  I was skeptical of it at first....purple isn't always my cup of tea.  But this polish IS. STUNNING.  The shift in it is VERY obvious and really super cool.  It changes in different lights and has a really neat kind of metallic sheen to it.  The above picture was taken in natural light. It's sort of a deep purple with a pinkish lean to it although you can see some grey-ish green creeping along the edges too.  Now let's see how it looks in artificial light, shall we?



Check out that bronze/green shift!  It's a very unique polish and unlike anything else I have in my stash!  Do you have Private Dancer?

O is for One Kiwi A Day...

For today's ABC Challenge I have a gorgeous Essence polish to show you! It's called One Kiwi A Day and it's from the Fruity collection.  It's basically a shimmery pastel green polish with little greenish blue glitters in it.  I like that when it builds up the glitters get sort of muted and the shimmer starts to flash more.  This is three coats and it builds to a nice opacity even though it starts out pretty sheer. I used the Essence Fruity top coat over this cause it smells like fruit!! :)  It does dry pretty shiny though even without top coat!

N is for Nyx

It's time for another ABC Challenge!! Today I have Nyx for you from the new Zoya Pixie line.  I've already showed you Vespa and London so I won't go into a ton of detail about the formula since it's the same as the other two.  This one was a bit less thin but still very sheer and needed four coats for this opacity. 


It's also gorgeous with top coat!  It has a really pretty sparkle to it!!



 You can see in this close up that four coats is pretty opaque but not entirely.  It's not super noticeable in person though.  I love this one because it's sort of a periwinkle blue and it's really soft and feminine.  I still think these are all more subtle texturally than the OPI but I like that they're very wearable and soft.

M is for Mink Mitten...(and Man Glaze!)

It's time for the letter "M" in the A,B,C Challenge!  I'm really excited about today's post because I haven't worn this brand in awhile and I had forgotten how much I love them!  This is ManGlaze Mink Mitten.  Mink Mitten is a metallic purple suede. All ManGlaze polishes are suedes or mattes.  A matte is meant to describe a flat finish on a creme polish. A suede is to describe a matte polish with a shimmer finish.  To me, all the ManGlazes are in actuality, suede polishes. BUT...who cares really they're absolutely stunning!  Something else I love about ManGlaze is that they wear for a long time and they dry quickly.  This is two coats of Mink Mitten and it's just flawless.  Even after two days at work there was only minimal tip wear and that's fantastic for a matte with no top coat. K is for Kryptonite

It's time for the letter "K"!  I'm really excited about this one because I haven't had a lot of excuses to wear this gem and I'm glad I finally got around to it!  This is Picture Polish Kryptonite.  This is the only Picture Polish I have and just based on this one, I need MORE!  The formula is fantastic; this is two coats of polish. It goes on smooth and the brush is mid-sized, not too fat or too skinny.  The only thing I don't love is the size of the bottle.  But it's worth it for this gorgeous color!  You can't see it very well in this picture but this has holographic flakes of glitter running through it as well. So pretty! :)

J is for Julianne...

 It's time for another letter in the A,B,C Challenge.  Today's letter is "J" and I actually had to do a bit of decision making for this one. I don't have a TON of J polishes but I have enough and several....OK most of those...are untrieds.  I've actually swatched this one before but never really worn it for anything so I decided to use it today.  It's Julianne by Zoya.  Julianne is a gorgeous purple shimmer with fat flakes of color running through her.  She also has a bit of a gold tone in certain lights.  It was pretty hard to capture it on camera but you can see the shift quite nicely in the macro shot below.  I just really love this.  I can't believe I haven't done anything with it!

H is for Harlow

It's time for another A,B,C polish challenge day.  Today's letter was "H".  I don't have a lot of polish starting with this letter so today's choice was pretty easy for me!  I got this one fairly recently and for an incredible price thanks to an amazing fellow polish addict.  It's relatively hard to find now but it's SO worth it if you can!  This is Zoya Harlow. Harlow was released in 2009 alongside Savita and Verushka as part of the Matte Winter collection.  I have Verushka and it's a lovely emerald green matte. Savita is brighter purple.  Harlow is really easy to work with and while she's STUNNING matte...you HAVE to see her shiny to appreciate her in all her glory!




I don't really consider these to be matte's.  In the polish world there are a lot of terms and definitions and I think sometimes big brands don't do enough research!  These are really more of a suede than a matte since a suede by definition is a matte shimmer polish. Just look at all that shimmery goodness. Gorgeous. I thought this was sort of similar to China Glaze Misteltoe Me, a polish I picked up awhile back for next to nothing to try to kill my lemming for this one.  It's not. Not even close. It's much more of a lighter, brighter pink.  Still...I love them both!  Here's a close up....


See all those red and silver shimmery bits?  It's very complex and just lovely.

E is for Elle's Spell

Well with the holidays and the unforunate tragic events around the world over the last week, I guess my fellow bloggers, Kerrie, Emma, and myself, got a bit distracted from our A,B,C challenge.  But fear not because we're back this week with the letter "e".  This is Barielle Elle's Spell.  It's the only Barielle I own and really, I don't know if I'll keep it.  I bought it amid a torrent of blogger lust over it and don't get me wrong, it IS pretty.  But this is FIVE coats.  FIVE. I know it's a jelly and I love jellie's but I feel like in order to really see the flakies it's important that this is built up a little more and it took quite a few coats to get to that point.  It's also lovely layered over darker colors but I really don't get into layering polishes much. I have a million and I rarely use them.  Anyway Elle's Spell is a red/cranberry jelly with color shifting flakies. I believe it's still available to purchase and runs about $7.99. :)  Do you have Elle's Spell?

D is for Dangerous...

It's time for the letter "D"!!  I'm trying to use this challenge as a way to work through polishes I've either never worn or haven't worn in a very long time.  This polish falls into the latter category.  I wore it once a million years ago and haven't since.  Now that I have it on I can't for the life of me figure out why I only wore it that once! It's stunning!  This is P2 Dangerous.  It's a shimmery magenta leaning purple.  This is two coats and it's opaque but it also has a sort of jelly like quality to it.  It's VERY shimmery in real life and it dried very shiny as well.  It reminds me a lot of Illamasqua Baptiste but I ended up swatching them together after I realized that and it turns out that Baptiste is much more of a true purple than this one.  An extra pic for good measure!

C is for Chuck

Today for the A,B,C challenge we have the gloriousness that is Chuck. Can't you just swoon over him?  I don't get much into his namesake.  The Gossip Girl books were a super fun fluff read for me but the show is just...well I don't have kind words for it so I'll just leave things at that.  But I die for the Essence twins and aside from Edward and Bella (another fun fluff read ruined by the big screen!) I think this one is my favorite.  Not only is he a gorgeous, bright blue but he's also opaque in two coats and shiny when he dries. :)  I didn't want to do much in the way of art today and matte top coating Chuck made him into a serious mess. :(  So here's him with his glittery soul mate, Blair.
