Today I have another Dollish Polish for you.  When I saw that there was a series of polishes dedicated to The Legend of Zelda, you know I was all over that! I still remember getting my very first game system, The original NES.  Mind you, I was 13, my dad FINALLY caved to our requests for one and snagged it at a yard sale and my friends had already been playing the crap out of the PlayStation for two years. But we loved it.  We started out with something like four games.  One was Super Mario Brothers 3/Duck Hunt/Track and Field.  It's actually a pretty common game but the great part was we actually had a Duck Hunt gun AND the Track and Field mat so we could fully enjoy all three.  Except for the part where if you ran on the mat too hard the system crashed. :/  At any rate, we also had a Chipmunk game which we failed at miserably because teamwork was essential and we just didn't have it.  And then there was that shiny gold cartridge.  The Legend of Zelda.  LOVED. THAT. GAME.  We had no idea how to play it or where to go and my sister and I spent endless hours with graph paper making castle maps to try to figure a way to beat it.  We failed.  But years later I watched my husband beat the whole damn thing in roughly an hour.  Stupid boys. Anyway...here we have Hylian Princess.  You'll probably notice in the pic above that there is a random blue hex glitter on my ring finger.  After carefully examining my bottle, I decided this glitter must have been an oops because there isn't another to be found.

Hylian Princess is a mix of tiny purple squares, various sizes of purple hexes, large white hexes and  large gold hexes and squares.  It's A LOT going on but it looks just amazing.  I layered it over butterLONDON Muggins for just a bit of color to the background.  I really love this one.  I love the color combo but I also loved that it went on so easily. All of my nails have a little bit of each type of glitter and I didn't have to fish for larger pieces.  It's smooth on the nail, and it wasn't thick and goopy. These nails are actually from a little while back.  I meant to get them up sooner but life gets busy!  In fact, if  you happen to follow my shenanigans on Instagram (beejustice!) you might remember these from about...oh, a month ago! 

The final day of Blue Week is here!  This is my finished design!  I actually REALLY loved the final look on this week.  It's got a lot going on but from afar it really just looks like a cool pattern.  I think this could almost go tribal with different colors and I'm thinking of trying it again sometime but using black instead of the white and some vibrant colors instead of the two shades of blue.  I hope you all enjoyed blue week and watching me 'evolve' another manicure!! Day four of the five day Blue Challenge is here!! If you're just starting to read along, myself and eleven other lovely ladies are part of a nail art challenge group called The Digit-al Dozen!  We're going to have a five day challenge every month and this month's challenge is blue! Even though it's NOT part of the actual Digit-al Dozen challenge I have given myself the task of completing this five day challenge by only ADDING art to the existing mani. No removing and starting over and no removal of existing design. So here we are at day four.  I've seen a few mani's recently on the web with this herringbone pattern on them.  I really like it and have been wanting to try it out at some point and since I already had the basic framework in place I decided to go ahead and try it.  I think the overall herringbone effect is better when the base color is solid but I liked it with the double color as well.  I REALLY love the way this mani is turning out. Much better I think than round one!! But there's still one day left so we'll see how things go tomorrow!!

Day three of the five day Blue Challenge is here!! In case you're just starting to read along, myself and eleven other lovely ladies are part of a nail art challenge group called The Digit-al Dozen!  We're going to have a five day challenge every month and this month's challenge is blue!  So for the next three days, blue art will be popping up daily!  A fun fact about blue: It's 80% of American's favorite color! I prefer green myself, but hey...I do love a good blue!!  Moving on to the additional rule I've made myself...even though it's NOT part of the actual Digit-al Dozen challenge I have given myself the task of completing this five day challenge by only ADDING art to the existing mani. No removing and starting over and no removal of existing design. It's a tough challenge but I'm feeling good about it so far!!  This is day three.  I added some white stripes with an LA Nail Art polish and then added another coat of Seche Vite.  I'm loving the stripes still and I'm super loving the way the white makes them pop!! Day two is here!! If you missed yesterday's post, I'm in the middle of a challenge week using the color blue.  To challenge myself, personally, I've added a rule that I can't remove any art from my mani.  I have to add to what is already there.  The challenge started yesterday with a base coat of Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it for the Boy. Today I decided to do some simple stripes.  I used butterLONDON Big Smoke which is a gorgeous dark, shimmery blue to add some fat stripes on each nail.  I thought really hard about matte topcoating this because I LOVE suedes.  But I ultimately decided against it.  I like stripes since they're easy to do and yet they look somewhat elaborate on the nail!  I hope you're enjoying the challenge!

It's time for another theme week!! And I'm really excited for this one because I finally get to talk about my new group!  Recently, Debbie from The Crumpet invited me to join a challenge group with her and eleven other wonderful ladies. The premise of the group, aptly named The Digit-al Dozen, is one week of theme nail art every month. I gave you a little preview last month with the Week of Red art, and now this week the official launch is BLUE!  So for the next five days, you'll be seeing a lot of blue on my blog!  Even though it isn't part of the challenge, I'm going to TRY again this week to only add to the artwork I do each day.  So on day five, my base coat of Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it for the Boy, will still be intact! Just covered with art. :)  It was a bit of a challenge last time, and the art I ended up with wasn't my favorite but I think it's fun to see where things go!  It's sort of a mood change mani, since it changes everyday depending on how I feel!  I was going to plan something out this time to avoid what happened last time BUT I didn't. I know. Bad me. So let's just see where things go, shall we?
