White heart...

These are the nails I actually wore on Valentines Day.  I've done heart shaped leopard before and I loved it so I decided to do it again with some different colors. What I love about it is that it's not so OBVIOUSly Valentines themed. It's pink and has hearts but from a distance it's kind of just pink leopard.  I love holiday's and themed nails but I don't always have time to change it right away and for that reason I really love that these transition right into regular life instead of looking stale. I used a new OPI glitter I picked up for the accent nail.  I'm not super in love with it so it may be headed for my blog sale. It's just sort of...meh.  Anyway I hope you're all having a good weekend! Have you tried heart shaped leopard yet?

It's Raining Hearts...

This was one of the looks I sported for Valentines Day this year.  I'll be honest and say I really don't get super into Valentine's Day.  I'm not big on pinks or hearts or girly girl type looks like that!  But I wanted to have some fun with it anyway.  I wanted it to look sort of like it was raining hearts from the sky!  It kind of works two ways as well because the hearts look like rain drops upside down and then right side up it just looks like little hearts and lines. :) I hope you all had a great Valentines Day and gave and received lots of love!

I Heart Leopard

It's the final day of the Digit-al Dozen's Love and Heartbreak week!  Today I have a simple and fun mani for you! Leopard hearts! This was ridiculously easy to do and all you need is a dotting tool and three colors of nail polish. I wanted to use purple tones because I think Valentines Day and love are too often associated with pink, white and red and I wanted to break out of the box! :)  I hope you enjoyed this week's art work!  Don't forget to check what the other ladies came up with for the final day!

Love outside the lines...

This is a quick mani I did for Valentines Day.  It's been nice out here lately which is out of character for this time of year! So I was feeling very Spring-like and wanted to use brighter colors.  These are my Color Club Poptastic colors again.  I'm in love with that collection.  A good friend got the set for my birthday last year and I literally use them all the time.  I also love that I've found this technique for making them more pastel so that now I can use them as neons and pastels! Anyway the idea of this manicure is scribbled hearts that are sort of scribbled in with color too!  I love the way it came out!!  What's on your nails for the holiday?

Hearts a-glitter

This is another really simple manicure for Love and Heartbreak week with the Digital Dozen.  Lately I've been really getting into the nude with a flash of color look.  One thing that's really cool about them is that whatever you pair them with really pops and yet it's still soft enough that you can wear it to work or professional events.  Last month I reviewed the butter LONDON GOOP collection and I know I said that the only must have is Hampstead  Heath but I retract that statement! The one I've used the most is this one, Bread and Butter Pudding.  I'm dying over how shiny and healthy it makes my nails look.  It reminds me of a subtle gel mani I had ages ago.  Anyway for this one I went simple and just added a burst of color at the base with some glitter and two little hearts on the accent nail. :) Simple and sweet. Just like me. :P

I'm only gonna break your heart...

This week the Digit-al Dozen is doing Love and Heartbreak.  This is my day one mani which sort of encompasses both!  The hearts are for love and the cracks are for the break! :P  This actually came out really well even though I was kind of worried about it because it's been awhile since I used my crackle polishes and some of them are tricky to work with!  I also had to do some maneuvering to get the heart shapes and I was concerned that it would crack funny or have weird cracks since the way you move the brush contributes to the way the cracks occur.  All in all I think it came out nicely though! Here's a close-up of my favorite nail. :)

Do you have any crackle polishes? What kinds of things do you use them for?

Don't forget to check out what the other ladies came up with for today's challenge.

Give me all your neon...

It took me a little while to jump on the neon bandwagon.  I've seen a lot of people with the neon nails and to be honest, I LOVE the look on people with a bit of color but on myself...I just don't know.  I feel like I'm too pale to carry it off.  That said after hauling a huge amount of them for some friends I couldn't resist picking up a few for myself.  I first used them in a much more subtle mani with just some neon stripes running through black.  But I've finally bitten the bullet and done a proper mani with neon! So here they are!  Kitty pirate neon nails!  I actually quite liked these nails in the end and as a bonus my camera did a really decent job at picking up the neon color!  They were SUPER bright!  I hope you all enoy them!
Have you tried the neon trend yet?

It's not my fault you're like, in love with me, or something...

Pink Wednesday!!! I'm actually participating this week...but mostly it's because I snagged this new polish I wanted to use and it happened to be pink!  It's from the recently released Minnie Mouse collection by OPI.  I have to say I was really disappointed in that collection.  First of all because I'm not super into Minnie Mouse.  I never really have been and I'm certainly not going to start now! lol...but also because the entire collection was red's and pink's.  I can appreciate that Minnie is a girl and that she wears red.  But why not mix it up?  They could easily have thrown some darker colors into the mix.  At any rate the only one I had any interest in was Nothin' Mousie' About it which is a clear base with pink shimmer and pink hearts in it.  I paired it with Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream for this simple but fun and VERY girly look. :)  I hope you all enjoy!

Happy Valentines Day!!

It's Valentines Day!! I hope everyone has a chance to celebrate with the person (or people!) they love the most today! As for me, I will be working. :( But I'll celebrate another time. :)  Today is also the start of the Purple Crumpet Fairy Spring Challenge. And it begins with an apt theme: Valentines nails! I did these nails in class today and I had a plan for them which changed about 15 times ove the course of an hour and I ended up with these.  The red stamping on my accent nail smeared a little when I topcoated which is weird because that never happens to me with Seche Vite...but they'll only be on a day so I suppose it's not that big of a deal! I also stamped the hearts in the moon area AFTER I had painted on the moons which in retrospect was the hard way of going about things!  But it came out rather nice I think.  Especially considering that Valentines Day nails are NOT my most favorite kind :/.  At any rate...these are done with OPI Red, China Glaze Dance Baby, Revlon White on White, and konad colored polish.  Enjoy and everyone have a safe and happy Valentines Day!
