Funky Fingers Anna

Last but not least on the Funky Fingers Frozen polishes line up we have Anna!  I expected to like Anna the least of the three (just not huge on multi glitters) but I actually really liked her!  She has the same white hexes and snowflakes as Elsa and Olaf BUT she also has purple and blue hexes and blue snowflakes.  The blue snowflakes were a total surprise to me. One just happened to land on my index finger and I then of course I had to look for more!

I've swatched her here over Butter London Sozzled.  I think the combination is pretty spectacular!  Really in love with all three of these.  If you can snag them I highly recommend it! Which is your favorite? Elsa, Anna or Olaf?

Funky Fingers Elsa

Continuing with the Funky Fingers Frozen collection, today I have Elsa for you.  Elsa has white snowflakes and  hexes (both large and small) as well as some larger light blue hexes. Originally I anticipated that I'd like Elsa the most of the three, and I did BUT I had a hard time deciding what to use her over!! Light blue and she loses her colored hexes (one of the things that sets her aside from Olaf) but white and she loses everything else!  I suppose you could do a darker blue or a slightly off white but I've gone with a light minty green.

I quite liked how it highlighted the glitter.  (It's Butter London Fiver!) I did fish out the snowflakes here so that I could have one on each nail but that's pretty typical of any large shape glitter polish.  One other odd thing that happened with Elsa (and I think it's because of the way I applied it) is that I got these weird bubbles in the BASE layer of my polish even though it was mostly dry when I applied her.  I didn't have this issue when I applied her again over another polish so it's not an issue with Elsa and I additionally didn't have this issue with Anna or Olaf both of which I also swatched over Butter London's so I don't think it's a polish compatibility issue either but be sure you apply her over a dry layer and in thin coats! This is two coats with fished snowflakes. :)  Which do you prefer? Elsa or Olaf?

The Digital Dozen Does...Tape Mani's

It's time for another week with the Digital Dozen! This week we're doing tape mani's! For those of you who don't know, a tape mani is when you use tape (striping or otherwise) to make a design on your nails.  I LOVE the way some people can manipulate tape and make these stellar, super intricate designs BUT...I am not one of them. I lack the patience for one thing and for another, I'm decent at making straight lines with a striping brush so I just never really saw the point.  However, the point of this challenge is to...well...CHALLENGE myself. So I have forced my way through this week for you anyway!  I know some of the other ladies will have AMAZING things for you so you'll just have to bear with me and not judge too harshly. :P

So for this manicure I used the tape to section off the two sides of color, before running a white line over the place where the line was.  I added the yellow stripes kind of as an afterthought and almost wish I hadn't because they're not as bright as I'd intended. I still loved this though and I LOVE the neon nail polishes Funky Fingers is churning out this season. Fabulous. Check out the other ladies work and don't forget to tune in all week long for more tape mani madness!! Colors Used:
 Zoya Purity
China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise
Funky Fingers Power Play
Models Own Nail Art Pen in White and Yellow

Put your Dupes Up: Jawbreaker vs. Oh Splat!

It's time for another edition of Dupes Up! This weeks contenders:

Funky Fingers: Jawbreaker
Retail Cost: $2 (or 3 for $5)
KBShimmer: Oh Splat!
Retail Cost: $4.50 to $8.75

This one is a little bit different than the others because it's an indie I'm doing the dupe comparison on, and not a mainstream brand.  I got the KBShimmer from a friend awhile back and I really love it but it's a mini so I'm always worried about using it and running out!  I probably should just invest in a full sized version but when I spotted this Funky Fingers polish the other day at my Five Below I thought, why not?  I'll start by telling you that both of these are a milky white base with colored glitter. I have swatched each of them over Zoya Purity to save coats and product. Also because personally, I like the look over a stark white and wouldn't wear these on their own. The Oh! Splat! is on my middle and pinky finger and is two coats. The Jawbreaker is on the other two fingers and is one coat.

The obvious difference here is the bar glitter which is not in the Oh Splat!  It's also pretty evident that the Jawbreaker is WAY more saturated than the Oh Splat! One coat of Jawbreaker was like a party on my nails! Two coats of the other is still a little sparse. For me though, I really prefer the more sparse look so the KBShimmer was a bit of a winner for me!

Verdict: Close but no cigar. The Funky Fingers is far cheaper but has bar glitter and is very saturated.

Where to buy:  Funky Fingers is available at Five Below stores in certain areas of the US. KBShimmer is available at her website at KBShimmer.com.
