I have another butter LONDON swatch for you today! This is also from their upcoming Spring line and it's called Fiver. Fiver is a mint green so you know I HAD to have it.  I have about twelve million mint greens and I can honestly say, this one is my favorite. It's not super green and not super blue.  It's also a nice light color but it's not pale or muted.  It reminds me of appliances from the 50's! I love that the colors in their new line have a sort of vintage appeal to them.  This one also looks great with Kerfuffle, the peach tone I swatched for you earlier.  It too was opaque in two coats and even though the formula is on the thin side these are really easy to work with. I had no streaking and no bald spots. It dried to a fabulously shiny finish as well. Perfection. :)  I love it when a color turns out to be exactly what you hoped it would!

Day four of the five day Blue Challenge is here!! If you're just starting to read along, myself and eleven other lovely ladies are part of a nail art challenge group called The Digit-al Dozen!  We're going to have a five day challenge every month and this month's challenge is blue! Even though it's NOT part of the actual Digit-al Dozen challenge I have given myself the task of completing this five day challenge by only ADDING art to the existing mani. No removing and starting over and no removal of existing design. So here we are at day four.  I've seen a few mani's recently on the web with this herringbone pattern on them.  I really like it and have been wanting to try it out at some point and since I already had the basic framework in place I decided to go ahead and try it.  I think the overall herringbone effect is better when the base color is solid but I liked it with the double color as well.  I REALLY love the way this mani is turning out. Much better I think than round one!! But there's still one day left so we'll see how things go tomorrow!!

Day three of the five day Blue Challenge is here!! In case you're just starting to read along, myself and eleven other lovely ladies are part of a nail art challenge group called The Digit-al Dozen!  We're going to have a five day challenge every month and this month's challenge is blue!  So for the next three days, blue art will be popping up daily!  A fun fact about blue: It's 80% of American's favorite color! I prefer green myself, but hey...I do love a good blue!!  Moving on to the additional rule I've made myself...even though it's NOT part of the actual Digit-al Dozen challenge I have given myself the task of completing this five day challenge by only ADDING art to the existing mani. It's a tough challenge but I'm feeling good about it so far!!  This is day three.  I added some white stripes with an LA Nail Art polish and then added another coat of Seche Vite.  I'm loving the stripes still and I'm super loving the way the white makes them pop!! It's time for another theme week!! And I'm really excited for this one because I finally get to talk about my new group!  Recently, Debbie from The Crumpet invited me to join a challenge group with her and eleven other wonderful ladies. The premise of the group, aptly named The Digit-al Dozen, is one week of theme nail art every month. I gave you a little preview last month with the Week of Red art, and now this week the official launch is BLUE!  So for the next five days, you'll be seeing a lot of blue on my blog!  Even though it isn't part of the challenge, I'm going to TRY again this week to only add to the artwork I do each day.  So on day five, my base coat of Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it for the Boy, will still be intact! Just covered with art. :)  It was a bit of a challenge last time, and the art I ended up with wasn't my favorite but I think it's fun to see where things go!  It's sort of a mood change mani, since it changes everyday depending on how I feel!  I was going to plan something out this time to avoid what happened last time BUT I didn't. I know. Bad me. So let's just see where things go, shall we?

This past weekend my husband caught me off guard with a trip to the city for the weekend.  Granted, we basically live inside a different city so it wasn't much of a getaway, but sometimes it's nice to just not be at home for awhile.  The original plan was to see a concert in Chicago, but since that didn't work out, we went to a baseball game instead.  It was a fun and much needed date weekend for us!! While we were there we decided to scope out the local Sephora to see what they had.  My husband actually had to ask the sales clerk about these Nails Inc Sprinkles polishes.  It turns out that while they carry about six four in total, the only one they had of interest to me was this gem: Pudding Lane.  It's a blue jellyish base with blue and yellow glitter in it.  I was both impressed and also disappointed by this polish.  I'm impressed because I thought it would take more coats to be opaque (this is an easy two).  I'm disappointed that there is so MUCH glitter.  I guess I wanted a more sparse look so it would be more like a jelly sandwich and less like a whole load of glitter fell on my nails.  It actually reminds me a lot of an indie polish called Floam which I have also recently acquired (and will likely swatch soon).  Of course, Floam has smaller glitter and a clear base.  But the overwhelming glitter effect is the same.  I did like this look but on the downside, it required several coats of Seche Vite to be smooth and ultimately it peeled off within a day. :(  Lame.  I also hate it when glitters are so heavily laden that the glitters stick off the nail and make the edges jagged.  Although a bit more maneuvering on my part would have solved that problem!  Do you have any of these polishes?  Did you love them? 

It's time for another Project Runway design!! This week was a group challenge and from the moment the challenge was announced there was tension among designers.  I realized again this week why I really HATE Elena.  She tried to control every aspect of EVERYTHING and was a real hindrance to her team.  I felt like Nathan's design was one of the worst and yet, his team chose to throw Gunnar under the bus for his dress rather than stating the obvious; Nathan's pants were a HOT mess.  Also, this is the first time I've even noticed Nathan and really, that's not a good thing!!  I hated the whole silk charmeuse idea and I thought the pattern was kind of lame.  While Raul's top was kind of a mess I disagreed that it was office inappropriate.  I'd have been much more comfortable in the office all day in a ruffled top with a nice pencil skirt than a pair of ridiculous dress/pants which make my crotch look like it's hiding a BIG secret and a silky resort wear top.  Although I did see the point that an older woman might be more comfortable in Nathan's ensemble than a younger one.  I chose to do my design based on the winning gown by Melissa. 

I watched this episode two days before I did the art and for some reason I was thinking the blue was much brighter so you can see that the color is all wrong.  BUT I still like the way they turned out.  The back of the dress had a zipper running up it in a kind of wavy pattern which I could not find a picture of for the life of me.  While I loved this dress I also felt that it wasn't really work appropriate.  It's just a bit too much for most offices!  I hope you're all enjoying the series!
