All that glitters is FAIL...

11:40 AM

Oh wow you guys. Today's design is a hard core fail!  I wanted it to be like a feathery wing but instead it just looks like a mess.  The first problem was not enough top coat between layers which resulted in the black lines being sort of wonky.  The second problem is the lighting. Winter is KILLING me on lighting. It's just way too dark when I get home anymore. :( But hey, I tried!! Sometimes you win and sometimes...you fail! :P Enjoy anyway!

  1. I don't think it's bad at all!! It kinda reminds me of a bunch of ants in a hay... in a good way =)

  2. Up close at macro size, the green glitters look hairy and not too feathery, but in the thumbnail shot, this mani looks fantastic and the lines aren't blurred by the little bar glitters. I love the green and gold combo. Do you use the special peel off coat beneath that glitter? I love the look of the bar glitters and feather coats but I so dislike the lengthy and harsh removal method that I avoid using it. I like that gold bar glitter that looks like feathers.

    1. I was just about to point that out as well. The thumbnail shot looks pretty cool.

    2. Thanks ladies! I think the problem was more in execution than anything else. I probably should've done more coats to smooth the glitter before adding the lines. Cindi, I used a glue base!

  4. Hehe I own "feather" toppers like this and could never figure out what do with them! I love the idea of using them for butterfly wings! I think this is really pretty!

    1. Thank you! I love the feather ones but like you said, it's hard to use them. I normally just go for a full covering since art on top is tricky!
